Castlebay Hotel on Barra, the most southerly inhabited island in the Outer Hebrides (or Western Isles). The Hotel overlooks Kisimul Castle, the harbour and the beautiful island of Vatersay.       

Bedrooms
They have standard twin or double rooms with either sea views or hillside views. There are 2 single rooms which face the hillside. All rooms are en-suite and feature tea and coffee making facilities.

The MacNeil Room is their largest and most prestigious bedroom, named after the Clan which owns Kisimul Castle and used to own most of Barra; a banner on the wall displays the MacNeil tartan.  The room has fine views of the sea and the Castle. The double bed is king-size and there is a sofa which converts to a double bed to take 2 children. The bathroom has a jacuzzi bath. There is a large flat-screen TV on the wall.

The Vatersay Room was completely re-furbished in 2008 as a twin or double bedroom. It also provides facilities for the disabled and is fully wheel-chair friendly. The bathroom is a "wet room" with a shower which has an optional folding screen.  The room has a rear access door and it is possible to drive a car around the back of the hotel to reach within 30 metres with a level access pathway. The room has views of the hillside.

The hotel also include four superior rooms, all completely renovated in 2008, which overlook the harbour and islands.  Two of them have king-size double beds. The other two can be set up as super-king-size doubles, or as twins, or can accommodate an additional single bed suitable for a child or young person.
