ORANGE BUSINESS - Do they satisfy customers

About this Guide

This guide is to inform you how good or bad Orange has been with one of our drivers.
This site alone has between 1500(low season) to 6000(high season) pages looked at every day and we believe that once people know how Orange has dealt with our driver people will then make their own decision about Orange Business Tariff.

We will scour the internet are try to find you Better deals which will be listed below at the bottom of this guide.
But please remember the offers where to our driver at the time and you may be offered different terms

This guide is not intended to be vindictive against orange, it is just bringing to light how they Operate and when mistakes are made, on both parties, you can find out how they deal with them. This guide will remain no matter what pressure is put on us. As the information supplied is true with proof and to which at this point Orange will also agree. We will welcome an official comment on this matter from ORANGE which will also be displayed so as orange can put their point across.

Once Orange realise how powerful this guide will be we are sure they will be in contact with us to discuss options, if they do not contact well that will be a bad downfall of their marketing section as their job is to make sure all the good things are shown and all the bad are rectified.
We do not intent this site to turn out to be another "Arnold Clark Sucks" site where there was a site made up of Arnold Clark problems and was huge years ago until the owner was bought out. This guide will remain until we are shown that orange really do care and try to resolve this decently.

To anyone who has had a problem with orange please contact us with details.
Also to be fair

Details of the history with Orange and the problem

One of our drivers were originally on Orange as a domestic usage customer since 1996. He was really unsatisfied as his bills were showing between £180 - to over £300 per month. He constantly tried to contact orange who at the time said he could not change to a business tariff.

Anyway's before he got his new business contract, orange apologised and Amy Ditchburn, whom at the time took over dealings with his account stated that they were mainly at fault so they changed him to a business tariff that had;

  • 2 orange phone lines
  • 2 phones (Nokia E71 + Blackberry Bold 9000)
  • 3000 minutes free
  • Orange to land line free
  • Orange to Orange free
  • 250 Text messages

Charges - £45.00 <<< excluding vat £7.87 which was a grand total of £52.87 if he stayed within allocated free minutes.
We do admit this is a fantastic deal.

Now here is where the main problem lies with Orange

Now again the problems are starting, the driver was unaware that he had to renew or upgrade his contract as the contract was for 18 months.
In that time he has never been contacted to renew his contract or to tell him his contract would be changed if not renewed. He only ever had received phone calls to UPGRADE his HANDSETS (nothing more).
The driver continued to use his phone lines as normal because he was still satisfied with the phones but recently he received a reminder bill of £288.00. He never received the actual bill as it was sent during christmas time, (lost in post we believe). The next day, 3/01/2011, after being told of the reminder he contacted orange who put him through to a Orange manager called Tony Potts. Tony was very considerate and once he reviewed the drivers account he could then chat with the person of the account and advised him accordingly. Tony also stated to our driver that Orange was willing to meet him half way and only supply him a charge of £107.00 which is very considerate.

Tony explained how the tariff was worked out and after our driver explained Tony realised and understood that our driver had a major point as well. Tony told the driver that with loyally, orange could pay for half the bill and that they would put him through to retention's to see if they could arrange a similar, better or close to previous deal as before.

Retention

In the morning of 4th of January at 9.34am, Orange Business, Jason, contacted our driver to arrange set up with retention. Our driver asked if they could give him half and hour which he said yes and Jason phoned back half an hour later at 10.04am. He then put our driver through to retention

To cut a long story short the girl, Lorraine Libby, gave our driver an offer and the girl wasn't interested what went on in the past with him.
She basically told him that that's the offer that she could authorise, no exception

The New Tariff offered was

  • 24 Month Agreement
  • 1x Nokia N8
  • 1x Blackberry Bold 9780
  • Business Sense 2000
  • 2000 Minutes to any network anytime
  • Choice of either unlimited land line calls or Orange to Orange calls
  • Unlimited calls and texts between sharers
  • 15% discount off leader cost
  • 100 texts per number

Charges - £68.00 leader , £15.00 sharer <<< excluding vat £16.60 a grand total of £99.60 per month if he stayed within allocated free minutes.
(previous contract was £52.87 per month)
This means that if our driver stays within the minutes each month used he will be paying, including vat, over £46 more with the new contract and with just under half of the free minutes originally allocated.

This offer stinks even though one of our colleagues is on the same price but with 4000 minutes per month and unlimited bundles including data.
Also consider, after being satisfied with Orange way back in 2009 with the new plan, our driver arranged quite a few of our drivers take out accounts with orange leaving other networks. Also we may add, our driver who has been with orange way back since 1996 has only ever had 4 new phones from Orange, (one of the phones was in French), (saving Orange money on supplying new phones). After all this considered the tariff offered is definitely not suitable.

Orange do state that the offer on the table is worked out including by how much usage goes on the phone over the allocated free time and how much the bill is per month. Our driver who should be paying £52.87 per month was usually between £60.00 to £75.00 per month, either going over usage or by phoning abroad or other no added business numbers.

Our driver does know he received a fantastic deal in the past but to then change his tariff without consulting him to a tariff which was NEVER AGREED and he has never been involved in when with Orange Business is absolutely disgraceful.

Our driver will now be looking for another company who wont mess him, us or you about and once we do, it will be made public so that you to can get a better offer to leave orange. Personally there may not be a better offer out there but would you want to use a company who put you in a corner and then, as you believe, "shafts you", ( "Shafts you" Maybe a strong word but that's what our driver feels). All our drivers and our colleagues will be informed of this and will be advised accordingly. We have informed our driver, it is best to leave orange but he will make that decision on his own

INCONCLUSION

Our drivers Original tariff has been been doubled and his minutes have been halved as is his other benefits.
Especially in a credit crunch, Do you not think common sense should prevail.
During his 18 month contract our driver has never had contact from orange to tell him that his contract should be renewed or it will change to a high tariff with less minutes.

THIS IS THE MAIN CONCERN -

HE HAS CHANGED TO A £52.87 CONTRACT TO AVERAGE PAYMENT OF £288.00 PER MONTH WITHOUT HIS CONSENT OR KNOWLAGE. THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED.

ORANGE SHOULD ALSO LOOK AT INFORMING PEOPLE THAT THEIR CONTRACT WILL AUTO CHANGE TO A HIGHER RATE CONTRACT

We have to say, if we ever have a problem with a client or customer in our line of business we will go out of our way to make sure that customer / client is satisfied and to make sure they stay with us. Orange have definitely not done this.
You have to remember, we are all in a credit crunch, we have cut our prices for clients / customers, not raised them.

We do not believe this will have any major effect on orange but in light of what has been stated above we do know that Orange will lose customers once they realise how they could be treated as a customer.

WE advised our driver to look elsewhere and if there are better deals out there we will let you know.
