Pitlochry, a small town with a population at the last cencus is at 2,564. It lies on River Tummel, 5 miles North west of the intersection with River Tay.  It has the Pitlochry Festival Theatre and the Highland games in August. There is the Pitlochry Dam and the Salmon ladder.  Edradour, the smallest distillery in the world, is 1 mile away. Dunkeld and Birnam are 11 miles south of Pitlochry and Kinloch Rannoch is 9 miles west.  Killiecrankie and the soldiers leap is only 2 miles away.
