ABOUT the Kintail Lodge Hotel

Kintail Lodge Hotel Glenshiel Shiel Bridge is located on the shore at the head of Loch Duich.  Travelling along the A87 you will find the Kintail Lodge hotel nestled beside the waters edge with the powerful Loch Duich drifting off into the distance.  It is a lovely setting with the only pub within 6 miles of the area.    Kintail Lodge Hotel is graded as a 3 star hotel by the Scottish tourist Board and it is non smoking property throughout.  I have stayed at this hotel with some fantastic clients, Mr & Mrs Prechel, ( July 2003 ), and to be honest my stay was not enjoyable, at the time I felt the hotel was ready for a major refurbishment throughout and my accommodation was non existent ( but I was put in the hill walkers lodge as they had nothing left for the servant! - so I could not have expected anything less ).  I asked for my clients to be put in the best room available and they were given a good room but not as desirable as I had hoped.  Next morning my clients commented to me that their room was comfortable, they did not elaborate.  The breakfast at the time was a basic traditional selection, not to much is the way of choice.  The host however was very accommodating and helped us with advice whenever he could.
