Helensburgh
is situated in the Council of Argyll & Bute, on the North side of the Firth of
Forth at the entrance of Gare Loch and close to Loch Lomond and the Faslane Nuclear Submarine base.
Helensburgh is the birthplace of John Logie Baird 1888 - 46, the pioneer of television. You
can find The Hillhouse by Charles Rennie MacKintosh in Helensbugh. Helensburgh
population is reputed to be 15,852, which was taken from the last census way back in
1991.
There has been a new census taken about nearly two years ago but we are still
waiting for the details to be made public! - watch this space!
