 Thornhill Bed & Breakfast, Scaurbridge House is a small Guest House located under 2 miles south west of Thornhill on the A702 Main Street of Penpont. Scaurbridge House is a former manse dating from 1840.  It is situated in a lovely garden on the edge of the village of Penpont in Upper Nithsdale, between the Dumfries-shire towns of Thornhill and Moniaive.
 Thornhill Bed & Breakfast has 4 bedroom. Elizabeth Ann Hughes, the propritor or this Thornhill Guest House offers a full cooked Scottish breakfast and a wide choice of fruit, porridge, cereals, yoghurt, breads, toast tea/coffee. She specialises in her home made cooking where you can sample some of her hot scones fresh from the oven served with home made jams.

 Local Tourist attractions near to our Thornhill Bed & Breakfast include The Thornhill Golf Club, Morton castle which you will find off the beaten track on the estate of Duke of Buccleuch 2 miles north of Thornhill. It dates from the 12th century and is an early version of a tower House. 
5 miles north of Penpont is Drumlanrig Castle which is owned by the Duke of Buccleuch. This Baroque country House does not really have any military function, even though two earlier defensive castles had stood on the site. It was built between 1684 and 1691 for the 1st Duke of Queensberry
