Aviemore Tourist information including
Cairngorms, Strathspey & Grantown on Spey areas

Avimore Tourist Information has such a wide varierty of things to do that I just don't know where to start,   Well here goes...          Aviemore Town is situated just off the main A9 road in the district of Badenoch & Strathspey. The population is in the region of 2200. The two nearest main towns are Grantown-on-Spey which is about 12 miles North East of Aviemore and then there is Kingussie which is about 10 miles south west.  The Tourist office is on the very south end of the Town, where there is free car parking.     The main artery of Aviemore Town's is the main road, B9152, which runs through the middle of the Town.                                     .  Aviemore Tourist Information & things to do include Skiing which is the Cairngorms, probulary the biggest Ski resort out of the  5 main resorts in Scotland, although my favourite is the Lecht Ski Resort near Tomintoul (thats for another day though).   There is also the Strathspey Steam Train which stops at the Aviemore Train Station.  Local Lochs include Loch Morlich, Loch a eilein * Loch Insh where watersports is plenty and there are many areas for Fishing in Aviemore.    Castles located within or near the Aviemore area includes Castle Grant near Grantown-on-Spey, Lochindorb Castle located on Lochindorb.  We also have the Glenmore Forest Park (created by the Forestry Commission in 1948), which has Loch Morlich located in the middle of the Park.  Kingussie South of Aviemore has the Ruthven Barracks & The Highland Folk Museum. a couple of miles further south lies Newtonmore Town.
